As a Quality Controller you will be responsible for overseeing all work carried out within the workshop ensuring that it all meets manufacturer and customer standards before the vehicle is returned to the customer. You will be expected to report and feedback any substandard work and also ensure that targets and estimated completion times are adhered to.
This role is based within a busy Bodyshop, which could either be part of a Main Dealership or a separate, privately owned or franchised repair centre. Working as part of the service team, it is crucial that a Quality Controller has extensive Bodyshop and auto repair experience, a keen eye for detail and good understanding of manufacturer’s specifications. You will be expected to liaise with Bodyshop Technicians, Estimators and Managers so being able to communicate with people at all levels of the business is also a necessity.
As Quality Controller you will report directly into the Bodyshop Manager and would be expected to act as a deputy in their absence. This level of responsibility will stand you in good stead for future promotion.
Typical working hours in this role are up to 40 hours per week and this can involve some weekend working to support the needs of the business. Salaries range between £32-30K depending on experience and as a Quality Controller you will have the opportunity to earn a performance based bonus.
