Nightshift Workshop Supervisor

What does Job Entail?

To contribute to the management team and show a united front when dealing with outside bodies and workshop staff. Allocate jobs to the Technicians based on estimated job duration, skills levels and job requirements. To issue parts to technicians and liaise with parts personnel on parts requirements/progress, chasing etc.

To monitor job status against required completion times. Communicating with the customer during the repair. Provide administrative support in the processing of job packs. To ensure an effective housekeeping policy is maintained.


To provide the customer clear and precise estimates for repairs and gain authority for such repairs. Provide a full and detailed shift hand over on every occasion, maintaining safety standards. To maintain plant and equipment to a high standard, and report defective or inadequate plant equipment to the Service/Workshop Manager.


To ensure adequate training and supervision of apprentices. Organise overtime (with agreement of Service Manager) as required to meet customer workload demands. Raise or authorise purchase orders for non-franchise parts and subcontract services. Ensure all Technicians times are recorded correctly, monitoring idle time and productivity.

Assistance with any other task as directed.
