  • £35,000 Basic Salary, £80,000 OTE
  • Monday to Saturday, Day off in the week in lieu (No Sundays!) 43.5hrs per week

A highly respected franchised car dealership in Truro is seeking an accomplished General Sales Manager to lead its sales operation and drive outstanding results. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven sales leader within the automotive sector to take ownership of a thriving dealership team and deliver exceptional customer experiences alongside strong commercial performance.

The General Sales Manager will oversee all aspects of the sales department, ensuring targets are met and exceeded while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction. They will lead by example, managing the showroom environment, developing the sales team, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and processes.

Key responsibilities for the General Sales Manager:
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
  • Oversee new and used car sales operations, ensuring maximum profitability and customer retention.
  • Deliver first-class customer service in line with manufacturer and dealership expectations.
  • Monitor performance, implement strategies for improvement, and report results to senior management.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the manufacturer and uphold franchise standards.
  • Drive innovative sales campaigns and promotions to increase showroom traffic and conversions.
The ideal General Sales Manager must have:
  • Proven experience in an automotive sales management role, ideally at General Sales Manager or Sales Manager level within a franchised dealership.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and drive a team to success.
  • A results-oriented approach with a history of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, closing, and communication skills.
  • A deep understanding of manufacturer standards, compliance, and customer satisfaction metrics.
