An established automotive service centre in Edinburgh is seeking a hands-on Workshop Controller to effectively manage daily workshop operations while remaining actively involved in technical tasks. This role offers a competitive salary with strong earning potential and is ideal for a driven professional eager to combine leadership with practical technician responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities for the Workshop Controller:
  • Oversee daily workshop workflow, ensuring timely completion of repairs and services
  • Lead and motivate technicians, providing guidance and technical support as needed
  • Actively participate in diagnostics and repair work when required
  • Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout all work
  • Prioritise jobs and monitor progress to meet deadlines and customer expectations
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication between the workshop and service advisors
  • Uphold health and safety standards within the workshop environment
Requirements for the Workshop Controller:
  • Proven hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs, with leadership experience preferred
  • Strong technical skills and confidence in modern vehicle systems, including hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Excellent organisational and team management abilities
  • Effective communication skills with both staff and customers
  • Valid driver’s license and appropriate automotive qualifications
