HGV Technician required in Swindon:
  • SALARY: Starting salary negotiable up to £41,000 per annum plus performance-related bonus providing a £45,000+ annual on-target earnings.

Our client, a franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is looking to hire a fully qualified and experienced HGV Technician for their busy Swindon dealership.
 
Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a HGV Technician, your key objectives will include:
  • Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and ensuring cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
  • Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
  • Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.
To be eligible, you need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years of practical experience post qualification. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. An active Class 1/2 HGV driving licence would be advantageous but is non-essential.
