Workshop Controller Required in Dover, Kent
  • Basic Salary: Circa £34,000 | OTE: Up to £45,000
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, plus one or two Saturdays per month (8:00 am – 1:00 pm)

Key Responsibilities as a Workshop Controller:
  • Lead, support, and coach a team of Vehicle Technicians and apprentices, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
  • Allocate work efficiently, ensuring jobs are completed on time and to manufacturer standards.
  • Interpret customer requirements and communicate effectively with your team and clients.
  • Monitor workflow and re-prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and productivity targets.
  • Manage parts orders and stock to support smooth workshop operations.
  • Ensure health & safety standards are strictly followed and maintained.
What Our Client Expects from You:
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Service Manager, or senior technician with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising confidently with customers and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of systems such as OneDrive/Kerridge/CDK, OneLink, and manufacturer digital tools is an advantage.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within a leadership role.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Main dealer or franchise background preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with manufacturer systems or similar digital tools.
  • Certifications or technical qualifications related to vehicle servicing or management.
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Experienced technician or senior technician aspiring to lead.
  • Previous workshop management experience in a dealership environment.
  • Time-served technicians with leadership potential.
Other Requirements:
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours within the scheduled working pattern.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of customer service and workshop efficiency.
