General Sales Manager required in Gloucester.
  • Starting salary negotiable pending experience, with an uncapped on-target earnings of £75,000 per annum and a company car. 
  • Guaranteed 5-day 45-hour week: Monday to Saturday with one scheduled day off in the week, one in two Sundays.

Our client, a premium franchise-approved car dealership situated in Gloucester, is currently looking to recruit a General Sales Manager to join their dealership. 

Reporting to our client's senior management team, as the General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of the dedicated sales team. You will be instrumental in building the brand presence, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and driving profitability and operational excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the team of 7 Sales Executives and the Transaction Manager.
  • Leading and motivating the team to meet sales targets on new and used vehicles and finance and insurance products.
  • Liaising with customers, both face-to-face and by phone/email.
  • Working to market vehicles and services on offer in the dealership and online, liaising with the marketing and digital sales teams to ensure this is accurate and seamless.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction index scores are consistently high.
  • Handling any customer complaints in an efficient and effective way.
  • Maintaining and tracking KPI’s.
  • Ensuring all sales completed are FCA compliant in conjunction with the Transaction Manager.
  • 2nd facing when required to close a deal.
  • Underwriting part exchanges.
  • Ensuring stock is prepared to company standards.
  • Ensuring showroom and forecourt presentation is always to a high standard.
Given the nature of this role, you will have previous experience at a general sales/sales management level within a franchise-approved automotive dealership. In addition to your previous experience, our client is seeking an individual who displays strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a large and diverse team, a professional and calm approach with strong management skills to manage internal and external stakeholders, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee potential barriers and a strategic mindset with the ability to drive growth and innovation as our client's new brand expands. A UK driving licence with minimal points is also essential.
