Diagnostic Technician required for North Tyneside:
  • Basic Salary experience dependent - up to c.£39,000.
  • Other packages are available to suit different skill levels.
  • Uncapped experience dependent OTE c.£49,000.
  • Working Hours: 40 - Hours per week (Saturdays on a 1 in 4 Rota basis).

Our client, a renowned Franchised Dealership, is seeking a Diagnostic Technician to join their team in North Tyneside. I have worked alongside the client for a while and have placed many happy Technicians here! The ideal Diagnostic Technician will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification with extensive experience in diagnostics essential. 

What will the successful Diagnostic Technician do?
  • Use measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to generate accurate diagnostic reports for the Workshop Controller
  • Analyse and apply technical data and manufacturer instructions correctly
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing on vehicles brought into the workshop
  • Dismantle and reassemble vehicle components following manufacturer-approved procedures
  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle health checks to identify issues and concerns
  • Prepare vehicles for new and Approved Used status, including inspections and adjustments
  • Carry out technical repairs adhering to established procedures and quality standards
  • Record all faults, work details, labour hours, and materials used on job cards
  • Report any additional faults or delays to the Service Manager or Workshop Controller
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety standards before returning to customers
  • Maintain vehicle safety, protection, and cleanliness during servicing and repairs
  • Keep the workshop organised and tidy at the end of each shift, ready for the next team
The successful Diagnostic Technician will have:
  • A relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience working with Diagnostic equipment
  • Own Set of Tools.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • MOT License desirable.
The successful Diagnostic Technician will get:
