Job seeker advice

With such a rich and diverse Automotive industry spanning all corners of the UK, we recognise that many of our candidates are willing to relocate in order to secure their dream role. While this can seem daunting at first, we’ve put together an area guide covering the key regions to give you as much information as possible in order to make an informed decision.

This region of England is the western half of the midlands taking in the major cities and towns of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry. The area spreads as far west as the border with Wales to the East Midlands and is the third most populous in the United Kingdom. It’s location at the centre of England combined with great road, rail and airport links makes the West Midland’s cities and large towns hubs for commerce and trade.

Living in the area can be relatively inexpensive, with lower than average house prices and many workers in the area enjoy lower than average daily commutes owing to the extensive road and rail network.

The landscape in the region is a mix of metropolitan cities, luscious green landscapes and miles of canal. The towpaths make for great walking and cycling routes and there's a variety of cafes and restaurants where you can sit al fresco and watch the longboats float by. Many exciting sports venues can be found across the West Midlands with international and national athletics at the Alexander Stadium, Cricket at Edgbaston Cricket Ground and unmissable events in the world of golf, football, badminton, tennis and rugby taking place throughout the year. For football fans, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers all have their home in the region, bringing followers from all over the UK to their games. Birmingham is home to one of the largest shopping centres in the UK, the Bullring, and boasts a wealth of well-known stores and independent shops. You certainly won’t be short of things to do in this area.

The Motor Trade in the West Midlands is mainly centred in and around the larger towns and cities. In many places there are large retail parks jam-packed full of Automotive businesses. Automotive manufacturers in the West Midlands include; Dennis Eagle, GKN Driveline and of course Jaguar Land Rover. The automotive retail trade is also well represented across the region with large well-established dealer groups and a strong network of independent garages.

The motor trade job market is fast paced and often competitive but our team covering the West Midlands have the knowledge and expertise to help you secure your dream role. We recruit across all disciplines of the motor trade in this area for new and used car dealerships, commercial vehicle dealerships, bodyshops and motor vehicle accident repair centres and also agricultural dealers as well a whole host of other automotive businesses.
