Job seeker advice

With such a rich and diverse Automotive industry spanning all corners of the UK, we recognise that many of our candidates are willing to relocate in order to secure their dream role. While this can seem daunting at first, we’ve put together an area guide covering the key regions to give you as much information as possible in order to make an informed decision.

The North East region of England covers some geographically large areas in England, those of Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and the Tees Valley. Though there are only three cities in the region, Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland; there are some very large and well-established towns, including Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees.

Living in the area can be relatively less expensive than the other 9 regions in England and there are some stunning living locations in North East England spanning all price brackets, with rural, coastal and river views being accessible from family town houses and starter apartments in equal measure.

The area offers numerous things do to from its exceptional art galleries and museums to stunning days out at Alnwick Gardens and Castle, and numerous National Trust stately homes. The Metrocentre in Gateshead is one of Europe’s largest shopping centres while the region also houses many picturesque market towns. North East England has a proud footballing tradition with Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC.  It also boasts premiership Newcastle Falcons Rugby team and the Durham County Cricket Club. For people who love the great outdoors, there is surfing along the stunning North East coastline and the coast-to-coast cycle trail to Carlisle. Iconic attractions such as the Angel of the North, Durham Cathedral and Penshaw Monument are all housed in this area.

The Motor Trade here is well spread throughout the counties and the major towns and cities within them.  All the major manufacturers are well represented from PLC dealer group to smaller family run businesses. The market here is fast paced and extremely competitive. Getting the right Automotive Job in the North East, is all about relationships, to put yourself in the best position you as a candidate need to build a strong relationship with an area specialist who can put you in front of the right hiring manager at the right time.
