The East Midlands as a Region makes up the eastern half of the middle band across England, including the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham and Rutland.

Whether you want to live in the bustling city or be surrounded by fields, the East Midlands has it all. The region is home to almost 5 million people and despite its size, typical commuting times are at the UK average. House prices also sit comfortably in the middle of the national average and the region enjoys excellent transport links with easy access to the M1, a comprehensive bus and tram system and travel by train from East Midlands Parkway to London taking less than an hour and a half.

The area is diverse, with plenty to do in your free time. For those who enjoy the great outdoors; Sherwood Forest and the Peak District are right on your doorstep, as well as the National Water sports Centre and a host of country parks. For sports fans, the area is home to numerous Football and Rugby clubs including the world's oldest football league club, Notts County and Premier League team Leicester City. There's also ice hockey, and world class cricket at Trent Bridge. There is a lively arts scene across the region, with theatre and music thriving in all of the local cities. Nottingham is a UNESCO City of Literature. The National Space Centre is also just a stone’s throw away.
