Job seeker advice

The main duties attributed to the role of a Vehicle Valetor are cleaning vehicles including washing and vacuuming, applying paint protection products accordingly, managing vehicle keys, and driving the vehicles to an allocated place on the forecourt. For this reason, most employers will ask that a Vehicle Valetor holds a full UK Driving license and is organised and efficient in their approach to work.

Based in a busy service centre, you will be responsible for cleaning and preparing both new and used cars ahead of them being delivered to customers. This could be ahead of a car handover or following a service so it is important that you liaise with both the Service and Sales team and are able to prioritise your workload to ensure vehicles are ready on time.

This role is fast past and demanding but provides the opportunity to learn many skills which are transferable to other roles within the Automotive industry. For the right person, this role could be a great stepping stone in your Automotive career and could lead to Service Advisor or Sales Executive depending on your skills and ambitions.

Typical working hours in this role can be up to 40 hours per week some business will pay by the hour if a full time position is not required but the average salary for a full time Valetor ranges from £15,500 - £22,000.
