Plant Machinery Technician required in North Oxford.
  • Up to £32,000 starting annual salary plus bonuses earned.
  • 40 hour week Monday to Friday.

Our client, a franchise approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, are currently looking to hire a fully qualified and experienced Plant Machinery Technician for their busy North Oxford dealership.
 
Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Plant Machinery Technician your key objectives will include:
  • Performing major and minor repairs to plant machinery as well as heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required. 
  • Carrying out PDI works and attachment set up on plant machinery.
  • Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
  • Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with other departments, including the sales team to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers. 
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for to machines/vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
  • Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required. 
  • Carrying out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront of what you do. 
In order to be eligible you ideally be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Plant Machinery Maintenance or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years practical experience post qualification. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Applicants with an active HGV/plant machinery driving license would be highly advantageous however this is non-essential.
