SMART Repair Technician required in Chepstow
  • Starting salary up to £29,500 per annum, along with a 7.5% guaranteed uplift due to later shift. 
  • Access to a throughput bonus scheme working out at £3,000+ per annum. 
  • Monday to Friday 40 hours per week on a split shift; 6:00am-2:30pm, and 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

Our client, an award-winning dealer groups head office based in the Chepstow region, are currently looking to recruit a SMART Repair Technician to join their business. 

Report to the Bodyshop Manager and working as part of a team, your key responsibilities will include: 
  • Carry out all repairs according to best practice procedures.
  • Meeting acceptable safety and quality standards.
  • Interpret and implement technical instruction data.
  • Use all paint mixing schemes and drying areas/equipment accurately for all paint repairs.
  • Seek clarification from the Workshop Controller if a work order is not clear or seems incorrect.
  • Complete assigned jobs within the estimated repair/paint times.
  • Safeguard the customer’s vehicle and its contents while in the workshop.
  • Ensure that all vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry guidelines.
  • Fulfil all tasks to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
In order to be eligible you will need to have previous experience as a Vehicle SMART Repair Technician (either mobile or workshop based) or alternately have relevant transferable automotive accident repair experience with skills like vehicle re-spraying and prepping. Overall you will be a team player, have strong communication skills, be capable of working towards targets/KPI's, and be able to maintain high standards of house-keeping. A UK driving licence with minimal points is also essential. 

For your hard work as a SMART Repair Technician our client is offering:
  • Starting salary up to £29,500 per annum, along with a 7.5% guaranteed uplift due to later shift. 
  • Access to a throughput bonus scheme working out at £3,000+ per annum. 
  • 22 days annual leave plus the 8 bank holidays increasing over continuous length of service
  • Contributory workplace pension scheme.
  • Fantastic long term career prospects with a large and premium car dealer group.
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday 40 per week on a split shift; 6:00am-2:30pm, and 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
