HGV Technician
  • Salary: Up to £21.00 per hour (£54,600 per annum based on a 50-hour week).
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid break).
  • Location: Workshop-based in Colchester.
  • Contract: Full Time, Permanent.
  • Start Date: Immediate.
Our motor trade client is currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing team in Colchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a company expanding its operation due to newly secured contracts.

About the Role:
  • You’ll be based in a well-equipped workshop, currently operating with two ramps and looking to expand.
  • Work alongside two experienced Technicians in the workshop.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of HGVs.
  • Ensure all vehicles are inspected and maintained to VOSA standards.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred).
  • Previous experience working with heavy goods vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
What They Offer:
  • Competitive pay of up to £21.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications).
  • 50-hour working week = up to £54,600 per annum.
  • Overtime available and paid at time and a half.
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays).
  • Monday to Friday working pattern.
  • Occasional Saturdays depending on workload.
  • Supportive team environment with ongoing growth plans.
