Vehicle Dismantling Parts Analyst
  • Location: Botley, Hampshire
  • Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 + alternate Saturdays (08:30 – 16:00)
Our client, a family-run business with a rich history dating back to the 1940s, is seeking a tech-savvy, automotive enthusiast to join their team as a Vehicle Dismantling Parts Analyst

As one of the fastest-growing automotive businesses in Hampshire, our client has grown exponentially over the last five years, now employing over 130 staff members. With continued expansion plans and an evolving industry, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of the parts sector.

This isn’t a typical parts advisor role - it’s not about taking orders or pressing buttons. Instead, this is a behind-the-scenes technical support role where you’ll apply your knowledge of OEM car parts to identify, catalogue and prioritise high-demand parts for re-sale.

As a Parts Analyst for this role, you can expect a salary of:
  • Competitive Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
  • Monday to Friday hours with every other Saturday (No Sundays!)
  • Join a business at the start of a major growth phase – team is scaling from 5 to 15!
  • Build a career in a stable, technical support role, with genuine scope to evolve
  • Work in a parts-led business that understands the value of product knowledge
  • On-site parking, team environment, and excellent leadership
You’ll be part of a close-knit team that reviews every vehicle coming into stock, selecting the most in-demand parts and using your experience to research part numbers, identify paint codes, and create dismantling schedules. Using internal demand data and online platforms like eBay, you’ll decide what parts should be pulled, how they should be labelled and how they should be logged for maximum efficiency and return.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Reviewing vehicles coming into stock and selecting parts for dismantling – Responding to product demand.
  • Creating accurate job orders and schedules for the workshop team
  • Logging part data in the stock system using internal demand tools and external sites (eBay etc.)
  • Researching part numbers and confirming paint codes using vehicle tags and image libraries
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality of every entry — from alternators to bumpers
  • Supporting the sales team by ensuring only the best, most relevant parts are added to inventory
 The Right Person Will:
  • Be experienced in automotive parts – ideally main dealer or motor factor background
  • Know their OEM part numbers and how to interpret demand and supply data
  • Have a practical understanding of vehicle systems and mechanical components
  • Be confident with PCs and comfortable working in a fast-moving, data-led team
  • Be motivated by quality and accuracy, not just volume
  • Have good all-round experience – we value candidates who’ve moved around and seen a variety of parts and vehicle makes
This is the perfect role for someone who’s spent time on the parts counter or back-of-house at a main dealer or independent and wants to take that knowledge into a focused, technical and strategic position. No direct customer interaction, no clock-watching – just hands-on work that rewards accuracy, knowledge, and initiative.
