Our client a busy, family-owned business experiencing continuous growth. Their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction in the Commercial Mechanical Services Arena drives everything they do.
- Pay: £40,000 - £60,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week (7am - 9pm), with ample overtime available
The Role as a HGV Technician with our client:
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, services, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
- Diagnostic Work: Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, electrical problems, and other faults in HGVs.
- Repairs and Overhauls: Carry out repairs and overhauls on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other components of HGVs.
- Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication work as needed to repair damaged vehicle bodies and components.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of vehicles.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets industry standards and complies with health and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used, repairs completed, and maintenance schedules.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their vehicle maintenance needs and provide updates on repair progress.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the garage team to deliver exceptional service and support overall operations.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HGV maintenance and repair.
Requirements for the Successful Mechanic / HGV Technician with our client:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in HGV/PSV maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pride in delivering good quality workmanship
- HGV licence desirable but not essential
