Our client, the UK's leading supplier of vehicle hard top canopies, tonneau covers and accessories, are currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Accessories Fitter/Auto Electrician to join their family-run business in Swindon!

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be joining a close-knit workshop team and your responsibilities will include:
  • Fitting accessories to vehicles, this includes canopies/hard tops, tow bars with electrics, storage systems, lighting systems such as beacons and work lights.
  • Complete fitting and repairs in the time allotted while keeping to high company standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using hand tools and power tools.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to identify any potential problems or safety concerns
  • Repair or replace faulty parts and components.
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.
  • Communicate any issues to the Workshop Manager and conduct any additional repair work as advised.
  • Keep work area clean and tidy and to maintain a professional image and ensure the safety of all team members.
  • Communicate timeliness of order completion.
In order to be eligible you will need strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics and particularly electrical systems along with experience fitting accessories to vehicles. Formal qualifications as either a Vehicle Technician or Auto Electrician would be preferred but not essential as training provided. Overall you will have an eye for detail, have good communication skills, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, be willing to solve problems as and when they arise. A UK driving licence with minimal points is also mandatory.
