Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Vacancy – Independent Garage
  • Location: Ilkeston
  • Basic Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm
  • 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:00am – 12:30pm
  • Overtime Available

  • Basic salary up to £43,000 depending on experience, with potential to increase for senior technicians or MOT testers

Duties for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role
  • Conduct servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicles including vans and cars
  • Support the wider workshop team with technical expertise, diagnosing complex issues
  • Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards and safety regulations
  • Assist with MOTs if qualified; training provided for those working towards or wishing to obtain an MOT licence
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction
  • Support continuous improvement through shared knowledge
Candidate requirements for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role:
  • Qualified Vehicle Technician (Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent)
  • Experienced in diagnostics, repairs, and vehicle servicing
  • Confident working on Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs)
  • MOT licence preferred but not essential; training available for the right candidate
  • Proven experience as a Master Technician or senior technician supporting team development
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment
