Are you an experienced automotive sales leader ready to take your career to the next level? We’re looking for a driven, results-oriented General Sales Manager to lead the sales operation at our well-established Franchised Main Dealership in Barnstaple.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected dealership group with a strong customer base, excellent brand partnerships, and a track record of success.

As General Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the sales department. You’ll lead, coach, and inspire a team of Sales Executives to deliver outstanding results in both new and used car sales, finance, and add-on products — all while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities as a General Sales Manager:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed targets
  • Drive a high-performance culture across new and used vehicle sales
  • Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and customer feedback
  • Work closely with the Aftersales and Marketing departments to maximise profitability
  • Ensure compliance with FCA guidelines and all relevant dealership standards
  • Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer partners and internal stakeholders
Requirements of the General Sales Manager:
  • Proven track record as a Sales Manager or General Sales Manager in a franchised dealership environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Solid understanding of finance products and FCA compliance
  • Commercially astute with a results-driven mindset
  • Full UK driving licence
