Duties of the Workshop Controller position:
  • Leading and supervising the workshop to ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Allocating jobs to technicians based on skill sets and workload priorities
  • Coaching and developing team members to enhance customer service and technical skills
  • Supporting technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs
  • Overseeing job card completion, quality control, and accurate invoicing information
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and first-time fix rates
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and professional workshop environment
  • Acting as a key liaison between the front-of-house team and workshop operations
Requirements of this Workshop Controller position: 
  • Proven experience in a workshop supervisory role or as a senior technician
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to coach others
  • Technician and MOT experience is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to quality service
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks effectively
  • A proactive approach and a team-focused mindset
