Vehicle Technician required in Stroud.
  • Salary: Between £17-20 per hour, pending experience.
  • Hours: 37-hour week: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-1:00pm Friday.
  • Benefits: Enhanced holiday allowance, early finish on Fridays, further technical training, and free uniform/on-site parking.
Our client, an independent family-run automotive service centre that has operated for nearly 40 years in the Stroud region, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to join their business.

Reporting to the Company Owner and working as part of a friendly team, as a Vehicle Technician, your main duties will include carrying out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repairs on customers' vehicles to a high standard, as well as MOT's, if you have an active MOT licence. You will need to ensure faults are accurately diagnosed and report to the Company Owner as required on vehicle condition, safety, reliability, and performance. As a Vehicle Technician, you will need to ensure that Health & Safety, as well as work quality procedures relating to the task at hand, are always adhered to.

To be eligible, an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be essential. You will need to hold a UK driving licence with minimal points, be a committed individual and be a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. An active MOT licence would be highly desirable, but is non-essential.

What's in it for you? For your hard work as a Vehicle Technician, our client is offering:
  • Starting salary between £17-20 per hour, pending experience.
  • 33 days annual leave (including the bank holidays).
  • Workplace pension scheme.
  • Company benefits include early finish on Fridays, further RAC-accredited technical training, and free uniform/on-site parking.
  • Excellent long-term career prospects with a family-run garage operating for nearly 40 years.
  • 37-hour week: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-1:00pm Friday.
