Workshop Controller / Bath

  • Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum pending qualifications with £4,000+ uncapped annual bonus potential.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with 1-in-4 Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm.

Our client, a multi-franchise approved car dealer group established across South West England, is looking to hire a Workshop Controller for one of their busy accredited dealerships in Bath.

Reporting to the Aftersales Manager and accountable for a team of 10 Vehicle Technicians and 4 apprentices, as a Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day function of the Service Department, allocating work, motivating and supervising the team in the workshop and ensuring safety, standards & efficiency by the Vehicle Technicians each day. You will work closely with our client's Service Advisors to ensure all work booked in is achievable and planned to meet customer expectations, industry standards and Vehicle Technician workflow.

To be eligible, you will ideally live in the Bath region or within a reasonable commuting distance to Bath and will need to have a proven track record in running a successful franchise-approved automotive workshop for the past several years. Overall, you will have excellent communication skills, good interpersonal skills and team orientation, be results-oriented with a desire to drive performance, have problem-solving and decision-making skills, put a focus on quality and reliability, and be IT literate. You will also need to have a UK driving license with minimal points. Any experience/manufacturer training with VAG vehicles would be highly desirable, but is non-essential.
