- Salary: Between £30-38,000 per annum (negotiable pending skills and experience).
- Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Friday with an hour lunch.
- Benefits: Technical training/development, a modern, well-equipped workshop, and a not-to-miss opportunity to work with some of the rarest and most desirable cars on the road.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager and working as part of a friendly team, as a Vehicle Technician, your main duties will include carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repair on mostly heritage brand and classic vehicles as instructed to the standards laid down by our client, alongside engine, gearbox and rear axle removal, full vehicle restorations, and associated mechanical and electrical repairs. You will need to ensure that faults are accurately diagnosed and report them to the Workshop Manager as and when required, regarding vehicle condition, safety, reliability, and performance. You will also need to ensure that workmanship quality and Health & Safety (HSE) procedures relating to the task at hand are always adhered to. Our client's customers expect the very best!
For our client, experience, passion, and attitude count more than certificates.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be preferred, but our client is open to considering candidates with various qualifications, provided they have strong "time served" experience working as a Vehicle Technician. Due to the nature of the vehicles you shall be working on daily, you will need to have extensive experience with internal combustion engines alongside a strong understanding of overall vehicle maintenance and repair. Any experience carrying out restoration and repair work on classic vehicles would also be highly desirable, but is non-essential, as training is provided. Overall, you must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment, have a passionate approach to the motor trade, and be motivated to work as a member of the team to provide a profitable and enjoyable working environment. You will also need to have a UK driving licence with minimal points, have your own basic tool kit (specialist tools provided), live within a 30–45-minute radius of Hereford, have no unspent criminal convictions, be willing to undertake a DBS check, and be comfortable appearing on our client's media platforms.
