Are you an experienced Yards Person with a passion for vehicle logistics? Currently, we are recruiting on behalf of our client for a dedicated Yards Person / HGV Driver to join their busy team in Feltham, Greater London. As a Yards Person / HGV Driver, your key responsibilities will include:
- Safely moving and positioning vehicles within the yard and workshop, including HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Ensuring vehicles are parked correctly and aligned with operational requirements
- Conducting basic vehicle checks for damage, cleanliness, and roadworthiness
- Reporting any vehicle issues to the workshop manager promptly
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
- Adhering strictly to all health and safety procedures, including safe vehicle movement and pedestrian safety
- Assisting with general site housekeeping duties when required
- Maintaining effective communication with workshop teams, managers, and customer service staff to coordinate vehicle movements
The ideal candidate for the Yards Person / HGV Driver position will have:
- A full UK driving licence, with a Category C (Class 2) licence being highly desirable
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to manoeuvre vehicles safely within busy or confined areas
- Good communication skills, able to work effectively within a team
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organised
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and use initiative
- Flexible and adaptable to changing operational demands
