  • Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
  • Salary: Circa £45,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)
  • Working Hours:
  • Rotating weekly shifts:
  • 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • 10:00am – 6:00pm
Our client is a well-established organisation based in Corby, operating a modern commercial vehicle fleet and investing heavily in their people, equipment, and long-term stability. They are now seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their in-house workshop team, maintaining and repairing company vehicles to the highest safety and compliance standards.

HGV Technician Responsibilities:
  • Inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and company commercial vehicles in line with Department of Transport standards
  • Rectifying reported driver defects and completing all relevant service documentation
  • Carrying out diagnostics and fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Road testing vehicles when required to ensure repairs are completed correctly
  • Preparing vehicles for MOTs and liaising with external workshops when specialist repairs are needed
  • Attending vehicle breakdowns on-site and off-site when required
  • Undertaking repairs on associated equipment where necessary
  • Supporting workshop operations, including ad-hoc supervisory cover when required
Requirements / Experience:
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or similar role
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of Department of Transport compliance and operating requirements
  • LGV licence desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
