- VEHICLE DAMAGE ASSESSOR/PARTS CONTROLLER - WESTON-SUPER-MARE
- SALARY: From £33-40,000 per annum, pending experience, plus bonuses available averaging £250-500 per month.
- HOURS: 40-hour week. 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Our client, an automotive accident repair centre in Weston-super-Mare, is seeking to recruit an experienced, professional Vehicle Damage Assessor/Parts Controller to join their business.
Reporting to the Bodyshop Manager and working alongside another Vehicle Damage Assessor, your main purpose will be to carry out estimates as specified by the vehicle manufacturer, insurers, and customers, ensuring that the vehicle repair is carried out efficiently and that, in doing so, a satisfactory profit margin can be generated. You will also have oversight for the parts department. Your responsibilities will include:
- To prepare manual and computerised estimates efficiently and ensure that they conform to the requirements laid down by the vehicle manufacturer, insurance company and customer so that customer care/satisfaction standards are always maintained.
- To maintain a file of all estimates undertaken, making sure that all work that is not automatically authorised is identified. Ensure that any such work does not commence until authorisation is given, following up on any unauthorised estimates and reporting reasons.
- Once authorisation has been gained, liaise with bodyshop personnel and make sure that they understand fully the work to be done as per the estimate. Alternatively, communicate with the bodyshop if, by agreement with the insurance company, the vehicle is deemed a “total loss”.
- Sourcing and supplying automotive parts and sundries for the workshop productivity.
- To be aware of and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and policies applicable to your position and working environment.
To be eligible for this position, strong and successful experience in vehicle estimating and being Audatex trained/qualified would be highly desirable, but our client is open to considering people with strong transferable experience in automotive accident repair, ideally with some experience overseeing parts, who are looking to undertake a new challenge in vehicle damage assessing. An Automotive Technical Accreditation (ATA) and any manufacturer-approved training would be advantageous, but are non-essential to our client, as they are willing to provide training for this. A UK driving license with minimal points is also essential.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? For your hard work as a Vehicle Damage Assessor/Parts Controller, our client is offering:
- Starting salary from £33-40,000 per annum, pending experience.
- 28 days of annual holiday allowance.
- Generous performance-related bonus schemes averaging £250-500 per month.
- Access to further technical training/development.
- Workplace pension scheme and health care provisions.
- Fantastic long-term career prospects with a long-established accident repair centre in the Weston region.
- 40-hour week. 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday.
