Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester Required in South Croydon
  • Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday 
  • Pay: Circa £35k Basic
Join our client's small intimate car garage as a Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester in South Croydon and take your automotive career to the next level. This opportunity is ideal for experienced technicians seeking a stable role within a reputable workshop. Our client is looking for a dedicated Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester to join their friendly team and contribute to delivering high-quality service to their customers.

Benefits of this Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester role include:
  • Competitive basic salary of circa £35,000 per annum
  • Working hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break plus breaks either side of lunch
  • Relaxed working environment with tea breaks in a friendly atmosphere
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, with additional days off between Christmas and New Year
  • No weekend work or late hours
  • Working on a variety of vehicles including light vans and cars
  • Investment in training for MOT testing 
Duties for the Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester role include:
  • Conducting general servicing on cars and light vans
  • Performing MOT tests, including hybrid vehicles (note: no electric vehicle repairs)
  • Carrying out clutch replacements, timing belts, and other routine maintenance
  • Using 2 poster ramps and MOT testing ramps designed for small vans and cars
  • Assisting with routine diagnostics, including code reading (dealer-level diagnostics not required)
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service and workshop efficiency
Requirements for the Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester position:
  • Proven experience as a vehicle technician and MOT tester
  • Strong work ethic and a professional attitude
  • Experience working with 2 poster lifts and light vehicle diagnostics
  • Life experience and a calm, responsible approach
  • MOT testing certification is desirable but can be provided if necessary
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
