Duties of a Commercial Paint Technician:
  • Carry out high-quality vehicle body repairs and paintwork on commercial fleet vehicles
  • Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, and surface treatment
  • Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats with precision
  • Carry out minor bodywork repairs, filler application, and prepping for painting
  • Conduct trailer repairs and welding activities as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
  • Ensure quality control checks are completed on finished work
  • Collaborate with team members to meet job deadlines and production targets
Candidate Specifications for a Commercial Paint Technician:
  • Previous experience as a paint sprayer, panel beater, or body builder within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector
  • Good understanding of vehicle repair processes including welding and filler work
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in an automotive repair environment
  • Comfortable working on a range of vehicles including HGVs, vans, and cars
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • Experience in trailer repairs and welding is highly beneficial
