Vehicle Technician Required in Portsmouth
  • Basic Salary Up to £39,000
  • Prestige Independent Specialist
  • Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00 - 42 hours per week
  • No Weekends
We are seeking an experienced and capable Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join our clients busy and professional workshop. This is a hands-on role within a well-established business, working on a wide range of vehicles including cars and light commercial vehicles. Some work may also involve specialist diesel systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards
  • Servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of makes and models
  • Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment. Bosch KTS used.
  • Identifying additional repair requirements and reporting findings clearly
  • Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Maintaining accurate job records and documentation
  • Communicating professionally with customers regarding vehicle faults and recommended repairs if required
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Requirements:
  • Qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician
  • Current and valid MOT testing licence (essential)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Competent in mechanical repairs
  • Experience working independently in a busy workshop
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Reliable timekeeper with a strong work ethic
  • Confident communicating with customers when required
  • Full UK driving licence
