HGV Technician Vacancy - Milton Keynes
  • Basic Salary: Up to £22 an hour 
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
  • Occasional Saturday mornings (paid at 1.5x)
Our client, a well-established, family-run recycling and transport business in Milton Keynes is looking to add an experienced HGV Technician to their workshop team. This is a great opportunity to join a stable company where technicians are trusted to manage their own workload and are not micro-managed.

You’ll be working solely on the company’s own fleet, meaning no customer pressure and the ability to focus on quality maintenance and repairs.

Working within a well-equipped workshop, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a mixed fleet of specialist vehicles including, Construction vehicles, Skip loaders, Tippers and Grab trucks.

Responsibilities:
  • Six-weekly inspections
  • MOT preparation
  • General servicing and repairs
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues
  • Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard
The workshop is well set up with 6 bays (2 vehicles per bay) along with vehicle lifts, pits, and brake rollers, allowing the team to hold vehicles for several days when required for MOT preparation and repairs.

Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
  • Ideally 5+ years workshop experience
  • Experience working on HGVs or similar commercial vehicles
  • A Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous (training can be provided)
  • A proactive technician who can manage their own work and order parts when needed
  • Experience with construction or specialist vehicles would be beneficial but is not essential.
