Commercial Vehicle Technician - Swindon.
  • Salary: Up to £42,500 per annum, pending experience/shift worked with a performance-related bonus scheme.

Our client, a franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is looking to hire a fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician for their busy Swindon dealership to work on either heavy goods vehicles or light commercial vehicles/vans.
 
Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, your key objectives will include:
  • Performing major and minor repairs to either heavy goods vehicles or light commercial vehicles/vans.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and ensuring cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
  • Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
  • Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.
To be eligible, you need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Heavy Vehicle or Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years of practical experience post qualification. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Commercial Vehicle Technicians with an HGV driving licence would be highly desired, but this is not essential.
