A busy and well-established commercial vehicle operation in Bedford is looking to recruit a hands-on Trailer / HGV Workshop Supervisor. This position is ideally suited to an experienced technician stepping into a senior role, with approximately 90% of time spent on the tools and the remainder supporting workshop coordination.
This is a practical, shop-floor-based position where the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining workshop efficiency while continuing to carry out repairs and servicing work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out trailer servicing, inspections, and repairs
- Supporting the planning and prioritisation of daily workshop workloads
- Leading by example as a senior technician within the team
- Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained
- Completing job cards and workshop documentation accurately
- Assisting with mentoring and supporting junior technicians
- Maintaining high levels of customer service and minimising vehicle downtime

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Trailer or HGV Technician
- Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Strong technical ability and a hands-on approach
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
- Confident supporting and guiding other technicians
- Basic computer skills
