Are you an experienced engineering professional seeking a leadership role within a well-established manufacturing environment? We are currently recruiting for a Lead Product/Application Engineer for a reputable bodybuilding manufacturer based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to take charge of product engineering activities, support sales, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant solutions.

  • Up to £47,000 basic salary dependent on experience

Duties
  • Lead the creation of engineering-ready part lists and specifications
  • Maintain supplier quotes and manage supplier costing to optimise budgets
  • Prepare order acknowledgements and documentation for customer approval
  • Track quotation progress and report on customer conversion rates
  • Liaise with clients regarding product specifications and technical requirements
  • Ensure effective communication between Sales, Engineering, and Production departments
  • Sign off build documentation and engineering specifications
  • Manage product specifications within the engineering team
  • Maintain control of high-value parts lists and product matrix
  • Prepare comprehensive sales quotations for customers and internal teams
  • Support team operations by undertaking any additional duties within your capabilities
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Product Engineer, Application Engineer or similar within manufacturing or vehicle bodybuilding sectors
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to take ownership and guide cross-departmental teams
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Expertise in CAD software with the ability to develop precise engineering plans
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail ensuring documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communicator capable of working collaboratively and engaging confidently with clients and suppliers
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Professional integrity with a strong sense of accountability
