  • Hours: Average 40 hours per week (flexible shift pattern)

We are recruiting for a Roadside Mechanic to join a nationally recognised roadside assistance organisation. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working in a customer-facing environment where no two days are the same.

This position offers genuine flexibility, strong earning potential, and excellent long-term career prospects.

As a Roadside Mechanic, you will attend breakdowns and vehicle faults at the roadside, providing expert diagnostics, repairs and customer support. You’ll work independently, managing your own workload while delivering a high standard of service.

The successful Roadside Mechanic will average 40 hours per week across the year and have shift times between 06:00 and 02:00. The position may include early starts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays and the rota will be provided in advance, with flexibility required.

Key responsibilities as a Roadside Mechanic will include:
  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults at the roadside
  • Carrying out mechanical, electrical and diagnostic repairs
  • Supporting customers calmly and professionally in all situations
  • Managing your own van stock, tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Completing job reports accurately using provided systems
  • Representing the business with professionalism at all times
What We’re Looking For from the Roadside Mechanic
  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Customer-focused approach
  • Flexible attitude to working hours and occasional overnight stays
  • Confident working independently in a fast-paced environment
