Key Objective Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, your duties will include:
- Performing major and minor repairs to either heavy goods vehicles.
- Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
- Maintaining inventory in the workshop and ensuring cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
- Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
- Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
- Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
- Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
- Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.
To be eligible, you need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years of practical experience post qualification. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Individuals with an HGV driving licence would be highly desired, but this is not essential.
