Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking to take your career to the next level? Our client, a leading commercial vehicle service provider based in Reading, Berkshire, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their dedicated team.   • Support for developing young trainees and apprentices
Duties:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on HGVs in accordance with manufacturer procedures
  • Perform fault diagnosis using advanced tools and techniques
  • Assist in road tests where HGV licences are held
  • Ensure full compliance with warranty procedures and record all work accurately
  • Support parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted
  • Complete all job cards and service sheets according to Volvo standards
  • Report vehicle defects and ensure workshop facilities are maintained to high standards
  • Support roadside breakdowns as required
  • Contribute to the development of new trainees and apprentices
Candidate Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician, ideally with Volvo experience but not essential
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive with excellent attention to safety and customer service
  • Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and follow health and safety guidelines
