Senior Diagnostic Technician - Kettering Independent Garage
  • Position: Senior Diagnostic Technician
  • Location: Kettering
  • Basic Salary: Up to £40,000 + Overtime (Negotiable depending on experience)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate (including weekend work)
Our client, a busy and well-established independent garage in Kettering, is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician to join their growing team. Specialising in AC/HVAC cooling systems, the business also carries out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across all makes and models, including hybrid and electric vehicles.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities who is looking to work within a modern workshop alongside a supportive and professional team.

Vehicle Technician Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults
  • Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using the latest equipment
  • Complete servicing, maintenance, and repair work to a high standard
  • Work on AC/HVAC cooling systems and EV technology
  • Perform MOT preparation and repair work
  • Support and assist junior technicians where required
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within agreed timeframes
Vehicle Technician Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician
  • Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair essential
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience
  • Previous experience within a Main Dealer or independent garage environment
  • Experience with EV and AC systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
