Our client is looking for an experienced Tail Lift Fitter to join their specialised coachbuilding team based in Manchester.

- Install, service, and repair a range of commercial vehicle tail lifts including column, tuckaway, cantilever, and passenger lifts
- Carry out LOLER inspections, ensuring all certification and documentation meet legal safety standards
- Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting circuits, and control units
- Work with hydraulic systems: hose replacements, ram repairs, pump servicing, and leak detection
- Contribute to the integration of tail lifts into new vehicle builds and conversions alongside the coachbuilding team
- Conduct thorough pre-delivery checks to ensure all lifting equipment is safe, functional, and compliant
- Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and inspections
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Offer technical support and advice to colleagues and customers when required
- Essential LOLER certification along with proven experience performing statutory inspections
- Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring, electrical fault-finding, and 12V/24V systems
- Understanding of hydraulic systems and relevant components
- Experience fitting or maintaining tail lifts, mobility lifts, or similar lifting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in a coachbuilding, commercial vehicle bodywork, or automotive engineering environment
- Familiarity with major tail lift brands such as Dhollandia, Ratcliff, DEL, or Anteo
