Used Car Sales Executive

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Used Car Sales Executive to join their vibrant team in Letchworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional with a passion for cars to develop their career within a reputable independent dealership. The successful candidate will play a key role in converting leads into sales, managing online and in-person customer interactions, and contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.

Benefits

  • Competitive basic salary of £26,000
  • OTE of £40,000 to £50,000 at target volume (12 units per month) uncapped
  • 10% commission on chassis profit, finance, and warranty income
  • Flexible working hours (core days Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with two days flexible!

Used Car Sales Duties

  • Converting inbound leads via phone, email, Auto Trader, walk-ins, Motorway, Carwow, or dealer auctions into sales
  • Managing online vehicle listings, including photos and social media promotion
  • Building strong relationships with customers through the sales process from initial contact to vehicle handover
  • Occasionally collecting vehicles purchased through online platforms or auctions
  • Maintaining and developing your own sales patch, focusing on achieving units, conversion rates, and gross profit targets
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and aftersales service
Experience Needed

  • Proven track record in car sales or motor trade sales; a genuine closers’ record is essential
  • Commercially minded with a good understanding of margins, finance, and warranties
  • Confident and proficient with IT systems including Auto Trader, dealer management software, and online buying platforms
  • Fully presentable and self-motivated with a full UK driving licence
  • Hands-on experience with used car retail, online sales platforms, or wider motor trade is strongly preferred
