Lead Technician / Workshop Controller
  • Location: Rugby
  • Basic: £40,000 - £45,000
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm | 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm
Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a respected independent, is seeking a Lead Technician to head up their workshop and provide technical expertise across diagnostics, repairs, and MOT testing. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who enjoys solving complex faults and leading by example in a busy workshop environment.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Carrying out advanced diagnostics and fault-finding
  • Completing servicing, repairs, and maintenance to a high standard
  • Performing and overseeing MOT testing
  • Acting as the workshop's lead technical expert
  • Supporting and mentoring other technicians where required
  • Ensuring work is completed efficiently and to manufacturer standards
  • Assisting with complex technical issues and workshop operations
What we’re looking for:
  • Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • MOT Tester qualification
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
  • Previous experience in a senior or lead technician position advantageous
  • Main dealer experience beneficial
  • A technician with stronger technical ability than the day-to-day workshop management team
  • Full UK driving licence
