Are you an experienced HGV or Plant Technician looking for a rewarding career opportunity in Bolton? Our client, a reputable family-owned business with a strong presence across the North West, is seeking skilled professionals to join their expanding team. If you have a background in heavy vehicle and plant equipment maintenance, this is an excellent role that offers a fantastic package and long-term stability.

Duties:
  • Ensuring the ongoing safety and roadworthiness of HGVs and plant machinery
  • Conducting diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles and plant equipment
  • Preparing vehicles and plant for MOT inspections
  • Attending breakdowns and providing prompt solutions
  • Assisting with tyre repairs and replacements
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment
  • Keeping up-to-date with health and safety policies and industry regulations
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an HGV or Plant Mechanic or Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently
  • Ability to strip, rebuild, and repair heavy plant machinery including engines, drive lines, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience working on crushers, screeners, excavators, loaders, dozers, and dump trucks is highly desirable
  • Valid driving licence (Category C/E preferred but not essential)
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to travel between sites as required in the Bolton and surrounding areas
Hours and Logistics:
  • Garage operating hours are approximately 06:00 to 18:00 or 19:00
  • Standard contract of 40 hours per week with some flexibility
  • Sites open on Saturday mornings from 07:00 to 13:00, with overtime paid accordingly
