Workshop Controller Required for Family Run Bodyshop Group in Burgess Hill - calling all workshop controllers from any Automotive Sector - it's more about your interpersonal skills than Bodyshop Knowledge! 

Pay: £39,000 - £42,120 + Bonus 
Hours: 45 Hours per week with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 

We are currently seeking a experienced Workshop Controller to join a reputable family-run bodyshop group in Burgess Hill. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals from any automotive sector who possess strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, managing the team, and ensuring the efficient delivery of quality repairs.

  • 45-hour working week with flexible working hours
  • One in four Saturday mornings on a rota basis
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, with a day off if a birthday falls during the week

Duties

  • Oversee daily operations at the bodyshop ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of quality control
  • Manage a team of productive staff, setting daily and weekly targets to meet repair deadlines
  • Conduct morning toolbox meetings and coordinate with the parts department
  • Ensure the site remains tidy and that all health and safety standards are upheld
  • Drive the site to meet and exceed monthly targets and production goals
  • Liaise with external clients such as dealerships and ARC to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Use simple IT systems and spreadsheets to track units and workflow – no formal management systems required
Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bodyshop Workshop Controller or similar role within an automotive environment - Car Dealership Controllers welcome to apply! 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities with a focus on efficiency and quality
  • Good communication skills and the ability to motivate a team
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards within a workshop environment
