Diagnpostic Vehicle Technician Opportunity in Oxford
  • Salary: £39-45,000 pending experience and accreditation, with an uncapped and realistic bonus scheme of £55,000+ OTE.
  • Hours: 40-hour week. Either 8:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday, with an hour lunch, and 1 in 3/4 Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm, paid as overtime.

Our client, one of the UK's largest independent automotive dealer groups operating since 1999, is currently looking to recruit a Diagnostic/Master Vehicle Technician for their franchise-approved car dealership located in Oxford.

Reporting to the Service Manager, and working as part of a friendly team, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading diagnostics and fault-finding across a wide range of vehicles
  • Carrying out high-level repairs and technical work to manufacturer standards
  • Working closely with the Workshop Controller to maintain efficiency and productivity
  • Ensuring accurate and thorough job card completion and reporting
  • Supporting quality control and maintaining high workshop standards
  • Carrying out vehicle health checks (EVHC) and identifying additional work
To be eligible, you will need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and be trained to either a Diagnostic or Master Vehicle Technician level with exposure to complex diagnostic/servicing work, with experience in electrical and mechanical systems. You will need to hold a UK driving licence with minimal points, be a committed individual and be a good team player who has a "mentor mindset" where they're happy to share their knowledge and expertise with the rest of the workshop. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy franchise-approved dealership environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. An active MOT Tester licence would be beneficial but not essential.
