HGV Technician Opportunity in Southampton

  • Up to £19.50 P.H depending on shift worked

We are seeking an HGV Technician to join our Client’s a Commercial Vehicle Workshop in the Southampton area.

Our client is one of the largest HGV Dealer Groups within the UK with 11 dedicated sites across the South of England, representing one of the biggest brands in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. You will be responsible for maintaining their fleet, ensuring they have access to all vehicles and reduce vehicle down time whilst increasing delivery efficiency. Our client offers a supportive working environment, with continued recognition, training, and development. 

This role would suit individuals with an experience within either HGV Mechanics or Commercial Vehicle Technicians preferably within a Commercial Vehicle Dealership setting, however non-franchised dealer, HGV Fleet companies and HGV Technicians from Independent Commercial Vehicle backgrounds are considered.
 
Our client is offering the successful HGV Technician:
  • Basic Salary £48,600 per year

Duties of a HGV Technician:
  • Carrying out vehicle repairs in accordance with manufacturer's procedures within standard times set.
  • Breakdown/roadside assistance and call out duty
  • Vehicle inspection
  • General servicing
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Repair of vehicle defects
  • Road test vehicles
  • MOT preparation/presentation.
  • Breakdown/roadside assistance and call out duty required.
  • Completion of all required paperwork accurately
What our client expects of their HGV Technician:
  • Be a qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three or equivalent).
  • Strong Organisational Skills
  • Experienced working on HGVs previously or an in-depth technical knowledge of Commercial Vehicles
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work to instruction.
  • Full UK Driving Licence – HGV licence is beneficial.
  • The ability to work efficiently as an individual but also as part of a small team.
  • Right to work within the UK.
