Mobile Plant Technician vacancy in Swindon!
  • Salary: £47,840 per annum, pending experience, with a performance-related bonus providing a £60,000 annual on-target-earnings. 
  • Hours:  Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, plus the occasional Saturdays. Flexibility is required.

Our client, a franchise-approved plant machinery dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is looking to hire a fully qualified and experienced Plant Technician to cover Southern England.
 
In this role, you will be expected to spend roughly 80% of your time at customers' locations and 20% of your time at our client's sites, primarily in Gloucester and Swindon. You will also be supplied with a fully equipped company van.

Key responsibilities will include: 
  • Performing major and minor repairs to plant machinery.
  • Carrying out PDI works and attachment set-up on plant machinery.
  • Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery. 
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hrs and schedules.
  • Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with other departments, including the sales team, to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers. 
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for machines/vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.

To be eligible, you need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plant Machinery Maintenance & Repair, hold at least several years' practical experience post qualification, and have a current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes. Additionally, you will need to be flexible on location and working hours given the mobile nature of this role. You will also ideally be located near Gloucester or Swindon. Overall, you will need to be a committed individual, a good communicator, and be able to work independently. You must be able to produce high-quality work and be motivated to work towards targets.
