Join our client’s long-established independent garage in Ashford, Kent, as a Service Advisor — a key role that combines excellent customer service with sales expertise to keep the workshop running smoothly and customers satisfied.

Our client is a well-respected, family-run garage that prides itself on delivering quality automotive care and building lasting relationships with customers. They believe in investing in their team and fostering a supportive atmosphere where everyone can thrive.

They are currently seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join their friendly team. You’ll work in a modern, well-equipped workshop, providing a welcoming experience for customers and supporting the day-to-day operations of the service department.

What’s in it for you as a Service Advisor?
  • Basic Salary up to £34,000, depending on experience
  • On Target Earnings (OTE) of £36,000+
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 18:00, with a 1-hour lunch
  • 1 Saturday per month, 8:00 – 13:00 (paid extra)
  • No Sunday or bank holiday working

Your main responsibilities:
  • Greeting customers and managing vehicle drop-offs and collections
  • Listening to customer concerns and documenting their requests accurately
  • Keeping customers updated on vehicle progress
  • Identifying additional services or products and upselling where appropriate
  • Preparing accurate invoices and explaining work carried out
  • Supporting the workshop team with relevant information and scheduling work
  • Promoting service plans, warranties, and other add-on sales
What we’re looking for in our ideal Service Advisor:
  • Proven experience in a service advisory or related role within the automotive trade
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple customer bookings
  • Confident in upselling and explaining technical work in a clear manner
  • IT literate – experience with automotive management systems would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence, preferably clean
Nice to have:
  • Experience with dealership software like or similar systems
  • Background in sales or parts advisory roles
