Exciting opportunity for a skilled MET Technician to join a reputable automotive repair centre based in Plymouth, Devon. Our client is seeking a dedicated professional to support their team in delivering high-quality vehicle repairs and restorations. Duties of a MET Technician:
  • Carry out removal, refit, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on damaged vehicles in accordance with repair procedures and manufacturer guidance
  • Support vehicle dismantling and reassembly tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards
  • Identify and report any additional damage or parts requirements during the repair process
  • Ensure all parts required for repair are available, correctly matched, and fitted securely
  • Conduct quality checks and test vehicle systems to confirm repair integrity before handing back to the customer
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring all work is carried out in a tidy and safe environment
  • Support the team with additional tasks as required within your capability and as directed by management
Requirements of a MET Technician:
  • Experience as an MET Technician within an accident repair or automotive environment
  • Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems
  • Ability to interpret repair estimates and technical instructions accurately
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Capable of working effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Knowledge of workshop health and safety responsibilities
  • IMI Accreditation in MET is preferred but not essential
  • Experience working in a bodyshop or accident repair centre is desirable
  • Familiarity with modern vehicle systems and safety features
