- Perform complex diagnostic vehicle repairs and fault finding on a variety of passenger and commercial vehicles, using the latest diagnostic equipment.
- Identify electrical and electronic faults accurately to reduce diagnostic time and increase efficiency.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools, such as OEM software and specialist scan tools, to promptly identify vehicle issues.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications, ensuring work quality and safety compliance.
- Keep comprehensive records of diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and work completed for warranty and customer service purposes.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety policies at all times.
- Communicate technical issues effectively to customers in a clear and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Proven experience working as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician or in a similar diagnostic role within a motor trade environment.
- Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical/electronic systems, and ABS/airbag systems.
- Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment, OEM diagnostic software, and multi-brand diagnostic tools.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Motor Vehicle Repair, or equivalent, are essential.
- The ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
- A proactive attitude towards training and professional development to remain up-to-date with technology advances.
