  • Salary: £34,000 basic + uncapped monthly bonus
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm + Saturday morning

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced MOT Tester Technician to join a busy and established automotive service centre. This is a fantastic role for a skilled technician looking to develop their career while benefiting from a £34,000 basic salary plus an uncapped bonus scheme.

Working across a wide range of makes and models, you will be responsible for carrying out MOT testing alongside general servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards and legal requirements.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  • Working on brakes, tyres, steering, suspension and wheel alignment.
  • Inspecting vehicle components including lights, exhausts, brakes and steering systems.
  • Using diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Completing job cards, MOT documentation and maintenance records accurately.
  • Advising customers on any faults identified and recommending appropriate repairs.
  • Keeping up to date with MOT regulations, technical developments and best practices.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.
  • Supporting stock checks, administration and the general running of the workshop.
  • Undertaking other reasonable duties as required.
Requirements:
  • A valid MOT Tester licence – essential.
  • Previous experience within a fast-fit centre, independent garage or recognised vehicle dealership.
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic knowledge.
  • Relevant vehicle technician qualifications and hands-on experience.
  • Good practical skills with hand and power tools.
  • A full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
  • A professional approach with good attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of workmanship.
  • The ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly.
